Hip Growth Plate Pinning, Without Repositioning

Montana rates for HCPCS 27176

This procedure stabilizes a growth plate at the top of the thighbone, near the hip, that has slipped out of its normal position, without first moving it back into place. Pins or screws are inserted through a small incision to hold the growth plate steady so it can heal and to prevent it from slipping further. It is most often performed in adolescents whose bones are still growing.
