Open Release Of Outer And Rear Hip Tendons

Vermont rates for HCPCS 27006

Through an incision over the outer or back part of the hip, the surgeon cuts and releases tight tendons of the muscles that move the leg outward and backward. Releasing them frees a hip that is being held in a fixed position so the leg can sit and move more normally. Stretching and therapy follow while the released muscles heal at their new length.
