Cuts the tight inner-thigh tendons that pull the legs together, through an incision in the groin, and also divides the nerve that drives those muscles so the tightness does not simply return. It is used for severe spasticity that scissors the legs, interferes with sitting, walking, or hygiene, or is pushing a hip out of joint. Dividing the nerve gives a longer-lasting release than cutting the tendons alone.
