Drainage Of A Deep Abscess Or Blood Pocket At The Hip

Wyoming rates for HCPCS 26990

Opens and drains a deep pocket of pus or trapped blood in the hip or pelvic region, well below the skin and fat among the muscles. The surgeon makes an incision, washes out the cavity and often leaves a drain so fluid does not build up again. Fluid is usually sent for testing to guide antibiotic treatment.
