Rebuilds a torn side ligament at the base of a finger or thumb using a strip of tendon or fascia taken from the patient during the same operation. The graft is anchored to the bone to restore side-to-side stability so the digit can pinch and grip without giving way. It is used when the original ligament is too damaged to stitch back together.
