Tendon Transfer in the Hand

Vermont rates for HCPCS 26480

Moves a working tendon in the hand to a new attachment so it can take over the job of a tendon or muscle that is torn, paralysed or no longer working. The tendon is detached from its original insertion, rerouted, and stitched to its new place under the right tension. The hand is splinted afterwards and retrained with therapy so the transferred tendon learns its new task.
