Extensor Tendon Repair In The Finger

Washington rates for HCPCS 26418

Repairs a torn or cut extensor tendon in a finger — one of the cords running along the back of the finger that straightens it. The surgeon opens the finger, finds the two tendon ends and stitches them back together, using the patient's own tendon without taking a graft from elsewhere. It may be done soon after the injury or later, once an earlier injury has failed to heal.
