Secondary Flexor Tendon Repair With Graft

New Mexico rates for HCPCS 26372

A surgery to repair the deep tendon that bends the tip of a finger, performed as a delayed repair rather than immediately after the original injury, in a case where the more superficial flexor tendon in the same finger is still intact and working. This version uses a tendon graft, taken from elsewhere in the body, to bridge and reconstruct the damaged tendon rather than reconnecting the original tendon ends directly. It is used when a finger has lost the ability to bend at the fingertip joint due to a flexor tendon injury that was not repaired right away.
