Takes out a damaged, diseased, or non-functioning tendon from a finger. It is done when a tendon has been destroyed by injury, infection, or long-standing inflammation, and is causing trouble or standing in the way of a planned reconstruction. Only the tendon is removed; any replacement or transfer is separate work.
