Reinforcing One Forearm Bone Before A Break

Rhode Island rates for HCPCS 25491

Strengthens a single bone of the forearm before it breaks, using a rod, plate, pins, or wires, sometimes with bone cement to fill a weakened cavity. It is done when the bone has been weakened by a tumor or another disease and is likely to fracture under ordinary use. Only one of the two forearm bones is treated, rather than both.
