Straightening Both Forearm Bones Over Internal Rods

New Mexico rates for HCPCS 25375

Both bones of the forearm, the radius and the ulna, are cut in several places, the segments are turned back into line, and each bone is threaded onto a rod running down its hollow center to hold the corrected shape while it heals. Working on both bones in the same operation is done when the whole forearm is bowed or bent rather than one bone alone. The rods support the bones from the inside as they knit.
