Removal of Diseased Bone From the Forearm

Utah rates for HCPCS 25151

Removes diseased bone from one of the two long bones of the forearm, by shaving down the surface, scooping out a crater, or taking out a segment of the shaft. It is used mainly when infection has settled into the bone and the affected part has to come out for antibiotics to work. The wound may be packed or left partly open, and further surgery is sometimes needed to fill or reconstruct the gap.
