Open Repair of Broken Upper Arm Bone at Shoulder

Vermont rates for HCPCS 23615

Repairs a break at the top of the upper arm bone, near the shoulder, through an incision that lets the surgeon see the fragments and set them in the right position. Plates, screws, pins or heavy sutures are used to hold the pieces, and broken bumps of bone where the rotator cuff tendons attach are reattached at the same time when needed. The joint surface itself is kept, not replaced.
