Open Repair Of A Long-Standing Rotator Cuff Tear

Vermont rates for HCPCS 23412

Repairs a torn rotator cuff — the group of tendons that hold the shoulder in its socket and lift the arm — through an open incision, in a tear that has been present for a long time. Because the tendon has pulled back and thinned over the months or years, the surgeon frees it from surrounding scar before drawing it back to the bone and anchoring it there. A sling and a staged physiotherapy program follow.
