Removing Diseased Bone From the Collarbone

Maryland rates for HCPCS 23170

Shaves or scoops away a section of diseased bone from the collarbone, leaving a shallow trough of healthy bone behind. It is done most often for a bone infection, clearing dead and infected bone so antibiotics can work and the area can heal. The collarbone is left in continuity wherever possible.
