Shoulder Tumor Removal With Bone Graft

Alabama rates for HCPCS 23156

This removes a tumor from the upper end of the arm bone near the shoulder, along with the affected bone, and rebuilds the missing section using a piece of donor bone (an allograft) rather than the patient's own tissue. It's used when a tumor has damaged enough bone that reconstruction is needed to restore the arm's structure and function. This is a more involved reconstruction than simply scraping out the tumor and leaving the bone otherwise intact.
