Removal of Part of the Collarbone

Alaska rates for HCPCS 23120

Takes out a section of the clavicle, or collarbone, rather than the whole bone, most often the outer end where it meets the shoulder blade. Removing the worn end leaves a small gap so the bones no longer grind together, which relieves pain on top of the shoulder when reaching across the body or lifting overhead. It is done through a short incision over the collarbone.
