Removal Of Artificial Disc In Lower Back

Removal of an artificial disc that was previously implanted between two bones of the lower back. The surgeon reaches the spine from the front, through the abdomen, and takes the device out; the space is then usually filled or the two bones joined. It is done when the device has loosened, shifted, or is causing pain.
