Spinal Rods Anchored at the Ends of the Fusion

Vermont rates for HCPCS 22840

Adds metal rods held by hooks, wires or screws that anchor at the ends of the stretch of spine being treated, keeping the bones steady while a fusion knits into solid bone. Anchoring only at the ends, rather than at every level in between, means fewer fixation points along the construct. It is placed during a spine operation and billed in addition to it.
