Fuses a run of vertebrae together through an approach from the front of the spine, to correct a curve or other deformity such as scoliosis. The discs between the treated vertebrae are removed and bone graft is placed so the segment knits into one solid piece. This version covers a moderate stretch of the spine, longer than the shortest fusion but shorter than the most extensive one.
