Spinal Fusion for Curvature, Short Section

Straightens and permanently fuses a short run of the spine, up to about six vertebrae, through an incision down the back, to correct a curve or other deformity. Bone graft is laid along the spine and, where needed, rods and screws hold the correction while the bones knit together. Keeping the fused stretch short preserves movement in the rest of the back.
