Removal of Soft-Tissue Growth in Neck or Chest

Vermont rates for HCPCS 21554

Removes a soft-tissue growth from the neck or the front of the chest wall, meaning a lump in the fat, muscle or connective tissue rather than in an organ. The surgeon makes an incision over the lump, takes it out together with a rim of normal tissue around it, and closes the wound. The tissue removed is sent to a laboratory to be examined under a microscope.
