Chin Reshaping With a Sliding Jawbone Cut

New Mexico rates for HCPCS 21121

This surgery reshapes the chin by cutting a single piece of the lower jawbone at the chin and sliding it into a new position, then securing it with hardware as it heals. It is used to correct a chin that is too small, too far back, or otherwise out of proportion with the rest of the face, and it changes the underlying bone rather than adding an implant. Because it repositions the patient's own bone, the result tends to look and feel natural.
