Freezing Treatment Of A Bone Tumor

Destroys a tumor in bone by freezing it. Needle-like probes are passed through the skin into the tumor under imaging guidance and cooled until an ice ball forms and kills the abnormal tissue, including nearby soft tissue the tumor has grown into. It is often used to control pain from cancer that has spread to bone.
