Free Bone And Skin Transfer With Microsurgery

Vermont rates for HCPCS 20969

Moves a piece of living bone together with its overlying skin from one part of the body to another to rebuild a defect. The tiny artery and vein feeding the transferred tissue are cut and reconnected at the new site under a microscope, so the bone stays alive rather than acting as a passive filler. It is used to rebuild jaw, limb, or other bony areas after tumor removal, injury, or failed healing.
