Bone Chips Harvested For Spinal Fusion

Nebraska rates for HCPCS 20937

Covers taking small chips of the patient's own bone through a separate incision, usually from the hip, and packing them into the spine to help the vertebrae knit together. Using the patient's own living bone gives the fusion the best chance of healing solidly. It is billed in addition to the spinal operation itself.
