Removal Of An Abnormal Bone Bridge At A Growth Plate

North Dakota rates for HCPCS 20150

This surgery removes an abnormal bony bridge that has formed across a child's growth plate, the area of developing cartilage near the end of a long bone responsible for continued bone growth. The bridge, if left in place, can cause the bone to grow crookedly or stop growing on that side. Fat, muscle, or another material is often packed into the space afterward to help prevent the bridge from reforming.
