Reduces the size of the breasts by removing excess breast tissue, fat and skin, then reshaping and lifting what remains and repositioning the nipple on the smaller breast. It is done to relieve neck, shoulder and back pain, grooving from bra straps, rashes in the fold beneath the breast, and difficulty exercising caused by very large breasts. Both sides are usually treated in the same operation.
