This continues a precision skin cancer removal technique in which thin layers of tissue are removed from the trunk, arms, or legs and examined under a microscope one at a time, until no cancer cells remain at the edges. This represents an additional layer taken after the first layer didn't fully clear the cancer. The process continues layer by layer to remove the cancer completely while sparing as much healthy tissue as possible.
