Pressure Sore Removal Over The Hip

Surgical removal of a pressure sore over the trochanter, the bony prominence on the outer side of the upper thigh at the hip. The damaged skin and dead tissue are cut away and the underlying bony prominence is trimmed back so it no longer presses the tissue against the bed or chair. The resulting defect is covered with a flap of nearby healthy skin and tissue.
