Sitting-Bone Pressure Sore Removal With Bone Trim

Maine rates for HCPCS 15946

Cuts out a pressure sore over the ischium, the bone a person sits on, together with the damaged tissue around it, and takes down the prominent part of the underlying bone that has been driving the pressure. Lowering that bony point reduces the load on the area and gives the repair a much better chance of holding. The wound is left prepared for a muscle flap, skin flap, or graft to cover it.
