Sacral Pressure Sore Removal With Direct Closure

Vermont rates for HCPCS 15931

Cuts out a pressure sore over the sacrum, the broad bone at the base of the spine between the hips, along with the damaged tissue around it, then draws the wound edges together and stitches them closed at the same operation. No underlying bone is taken away and no flap or graft is brought in to cover the area. It suits sores where there is enough healthy skin nearby to close the gap directly.
