Surgical removal of loose, sagging skin and the fat beneath it from the buttock, with the remaining skin trimmed and closed so that it lies flat and smooth. It is done when the excess skin causes rashes, repeated skin infections, or difficulty with sitting, washing and clothing, most often after major weight loss. It is not the same as liposuction, which removes fat but leaves the skin behind.
