Preparing Or Dividing A Skin Flap

A staged step in moving a flap of skin and the tissue beneath it from one place to another. The flap's blood supply is either conditioned in advance of the move or, once the flap has taken hold in its new position, the remaining attachment is divided and the tissue is set into place. It is one stage of a reconstruction carried out over more than one operation.
