Forming A Skin Flap On A Stalk

Raises a flap of skin and the fat beneath it that stays attached along one edge by a stalk carrying its blood supply, so the tissue can be moved to cover a nearby wound. The stalk keeps the flap alive until it builds a new blood supply where it has been placed. Further operations are usually needed to complete the transfer.
