This service transplants a layer of the patient's own skin, taken from elsewhere on the body, to cover a wound on a sensitive or highly visible area such as the face, scalp, hands, feet, or genitals. It covers the first section of the area being treated, using a different graft technique than the more basic version of this treatment. This is used when a wound in one of these areas needs its own skin covering to heal well.
