Prepares a further area of a wound on the trunk, arm, or leg to receive a graft or flap, by cutting away dead tissue, burn crust, or scar until healthy, bleeding tissue is exposed. A clean, living wound bed is what allows a graft to take. It is billed in addition to the main procedure when the area needing preparation is larger than the first area treated.
