When a jagged or gaping wound on the forehead, cheek, chin, mouth, neck, armpit, genital area, hands or feet needs a careful layered closure, and the wound runs longer than the main repair already covers, this pays for each further stretch of that same closure. The repair involves trimming and rebuilding the wound edges in layers rather than placing a single row of stitches. It is billed in addition to the main repair of that wound.
