Simple Stitching of a Very Long Wound

Straightforward one-layer closure of a cut or laceration involving the skin and the tissue just beneath it, on the scalp, neck, armpit, trunk, genitals, or an arm or leg including the hands and feet. It applies to very long wounds, more than about 30 centimeters (12 inches) of total repaired length, and to injuries that need only cleaning and stitching rather than layered reconstruction. Stitches, staples, or tissue adhesive may be used.
