Extensive Removal of Tailbone Cyst

Vermont rates for HCPCS 11772

Cuts out a pilonidal cyst and its tunnels, the pocket of infected hair and debris that forms in the cleft at the top of the buttocks. This is the most involved version, used when the disease is widespread or has branching tunnels, so more tissue has to be taken and the wound is larger. The wound may be closed with nearby tissue moved over it or left open to heal gradually.
