Cleaning An Open Fracture Wound: Skin And Fat

Vermont rates for HCPCS 11010

Cleans out the wound of a broken bone that has torn through the skin, removing dirt, grit, foreign material and damaged tissue from the skin and the fatty layer just beneath it. The wound is washed out thoroughly to cut the risk of infection reaching the bone. Deeper layers, where they also need clearing, are treated separately.
