Destroys a targeted area of prostate tissue with heat from a laser fiber passed through the skin between the scrotum and the anus. Imaging from within the rectum, combined with previously taken MRI pictures, is used to aim the fiber so that only the intended area is treated and the rest of the gland is left alone.
