Takes out only the wire electrode that runs through a vein into the heart as part of an implanted system that watches for electrical signs of reduced blood flow to the heart muscle. The wire is withdrawn back along the vein it was placed through rather than by opening the chest, and the recording unit under the skin is left where it is. Imaging is used during the removal to follow the wire.
