Catheter Closure Of A Faulty Arm Or Leg Vein

Rhode Island rates for HCPCS 0524T

Closes off a vein in an arm or a leg whose valves no longer work, which causes bulging veins along with aching and swelling. A thin tube is threaded inside the vein and a medicine is released through it to seal the vein shut from within, with a small balloon used to keep the medicine in the stretch being treated. Blood then reroutes through healthy veins, so the vein does not have to be stripped out surgically.
