Wireless Pacing System For The Left Ventricle

Vermont rates for HCPCS 0515T

A system is implanted to pace the heart's main pumping chamber without a wire running into it. A tiny receiver electrode is placed inside the left ventricle and a separate transmitter and battery are implanted under the skin of the chest; the transmitter sends energy that the electrode converts into a pacing pulse. Checking and programming the system, and any imaging guidance used, are part of the procedure.
