Implanting A Lead For A Heart Contractility Device

One of the wires, or leads, belonging to a cardiac contractility modulation system is placed into the heart through a vein and connected to the implanted generator. The system delivers timed electrical signals to the heart muscle to strengthen its contraction in people with heart failure. Only the lead is placed in this service; the generator is handled separately.
