Heart Contraction-Boosting Device Placement

Wyoming rates for HCPCS 0408T

A small device and connecting wire are placed to send carefully timed electrical signals to the heart muscle, strengthening the force of each heartbeat without acting as a pacemaker or defibrillator. It is used for certain people with moderate to advanced heart failure whose symptoms continue despite standard medications and who are not candidates for other device-based heart failure therapies. The device and its wires are typically placed the same way a pacemaker is implanted, under the skin near the collarbone.
