Blood Plasma Treatment To Alter Cholesterol Particles

Blood is drawn through a line, a machine separates the plasma from the blood cells, and the cholesterol-carrying particles in that plasma are chemically altered outside the body. The treated plasma is then returned to the patient during the same session. Blood leaves and returns through a continuous circuit, as in other therapeutic plasma treatments.
