Helps decide whether a skin lesion is a melanoma or a harmless mole when its appearance under the microscope is not clear cut. The activity of 35 genes is measured in the stored tissue sample and the lesion is classified accordingly. A companion test instead judges the outlook for squamous cell skin cancers.
