Examines the entire set of RNA a cancer is producing, in any type of tumor, to find the changes driving the disease. Fresh or preserved tumor tissue, blood or a bone-marrow sample is sequenced across the whole transcriptome and compared against the patient's own normal tissue, so that only cancer-specific findings are reported. That comparison covers sequence variants, how strongly genes are switched on, and fusion transcripts, all in one analysis.
